==> WO <==
~~~~
Dear english readers:
Sorry, but my english is not as good as my german.
I've tried to translate the original german doc-file into english.
But I fear there will be more fit of laughter than understanding.
"WO" (where) is a short and quick utility, which helps you to bring
order in your addresses and (this is proper the only important feature)
codes them and saves them (password-encoded) on disc.
Start the program by double-clicking its WorkBench(TM) icon or enter
<wo filename> in CLI(TM).
Now you see the main-window, displaying one text-gadget, some click-gadgets,
a little timer-clock (surely not necessary, but I knew how to program it,
and therefore I included it) and a few other things.
At the same time, there appears another window: time for you to go to work
and enter the file to load. (This disc contains - I hope so - a little
demo-file with 35 ficitious addresses) to play with.
If you don't want to load a file , just click "Cancel".
IMPORTANT:
~~~~~~~~~~
To use the list function there must be at least ONE address-record.
(Without records you cannot show a list of records, got it ?).
Some functions ("del", "edit", "print") need an activated record;
that means: list the available records by clicking the list-gadget,
click one term in the list-window, leave list-window by clicking RIGHT
mouse button). The corresponding address is shown in the main-window.
List:
~~~~~
Shows you (in alphabetical order) all present tracing terms. (Oh, my english).
Leave window by clicking RIGHT mouse-button.
Input:
~~~~~~
Enter new records.
A record is complete, when you enter (at least) <return> in every field.
Leave input-window by clicking the close-gadget.
Edit:
~~~~~
Edit present record.
You only have to <enter> until the field, you wanted to edit, not through
all the fields.
Leave edit-window by clicking the close-gadget.
Open:
~~~~~
Load an address-file.
(default is "wo.file")
Enter password to load a coded file.
Enter <return> or click "Yo" to load a non-coded file (like the demo-file).
Enter wrong password to live to see a reset.
If the file has been loaded, you see the number of records in the
main-window. Now click any option.
If there's a new or edited current file, which hasn' been saved yet, "WO"
requests, whether save it or not.
Save:
~~~~~
Save an address-file.
Enter name, under which you want to save the current file.
Enter password to code your addresses.
Enter no password (just <return> or just click "Yo" to save file
without coding it, so that every sucker can examine your addresses.
Check (just for fun) with a text-editor, if you're satisfied with the
coding-result. (I bet you are !)
Print:
~~~~~~
Print active address.
"WO" checks, whether there is a printer online or not, so don't worry
and simply click it.
I don't know much about other printers and configurations but mine
(Star LC24-10, A500 1,5MB); I have no problems printing my addresses.
New:
~~~~
Erase all records.
Attention: This function deletes (after a request) ALL records.
Save file before beginning a new one.
Del:
~~~~
Deletes activated record.
Cancel:
~~~~~~~
Exit.
Further Information:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Press F1-key to activate the text-gadget in the main-window.
There you can enter a tracing-term as well. Sometimes it might be
faster than going the wide, wide way through the list-window.
For Programers:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The source does NOT contain the routine to code and re-code a file.
Sorry for that, but I didn't know, if it is possible to calculate
the original file from a coded one, if the code-routine is available.
I know, the code could be much more efficient. But It works (most the time).
An update (f.e. with file-requester) will probably be released soon.
Have fun !
